Dr. Sheena Boury

Dr. Boury was born and raised just outside of London, England. She was inspired at an early age by her mother, a practicing nurse, midwife,  and social worker. She would often do home calls with her mother which ignited her calling for medicine. This calling guided her to participate in after-school volunteer opportunities at schools for Autistic and mentally challenged children and nursing homes. Throughout high school, she also worked at a pharmacy on the weekends and during her summer holidays. Dr Boury continued her education by studying Biomedical Science at The University of  Portsmouth, United Kingdom. After graduating, she spent 2 years working as a scientist developing a new rheumatological drug. She recognized that her passion was treating people and thus began medical school at St. Matthews University in the Cayman Islands. This is where she met her husband. After 9 months there, she survived a level 5 hurricane, forcing her and her peers to move to Maine to finish their training.

With her interest in various medical fields and a strong desire to provide care for the entire family, she pursued a career in family medicine and joined The Christ Hospital/UC family medicine residency program. While in residency, she volunteered to provide medical care at local homeless shelters and participated in medical missions treating underserved populations in both Honduras and Ecuador.

After residency, she became board-certified in family medicine and practiced  13 years at The Christ Hospital Physicians in Fort Wright, Kentucky. During  this time, she expanded her knowledge and worked at the Wound clinic for 8  years and became certified to recommend and educate patients on medical  cannabis.

She is also actively involved in the clinical education of UC medical students.

In her spare time, she loves to travel and experience new cultures. She loves hiking and cooking. She admits to being a bit of a foodie and you may find her at one of the great restaurants in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. She cherishes spending time with her family and taking long walks with her beloved mini golden doodle, Leo.
